The city will struggle to cope with the growing number of students unless more accommodation is created 🏠

Glasgow will struggle to cope with an influx of students unless more purpose-built accommodation is created, developers have said.

Figures published by Cooper Cromar, who are looking to build student accommodation on Renfrew Street, show that there are around 77,64 full-time students in the city as well as 25,735 full-time international students. The number has grown by 12.3 per cent since 2017 and is expected to continue to rise with economic uncertainty creating 'strong growth' in student numbers.

In response, they are looking to create more student beds at a derelict site adjoining the Maldron Hotel on Renfield Street.
