The shark was caught on camera yesterday by a fisherman known online as Trapman Bermagui in 20 metres of water near Horseshoe Bay Beach in Bermagui on the South Coast.
The fisherman posted the clip of the shark, taken with an underwater camera, to Facebook as "a heads up" to the families who frequent the beach."Big white shark cruising off the second point off Bermagui today. 20m of water. Just a heads up," the fisherman wrote."I've seen plenty over the years, but not this close to a very popular swimming beach in town," he said.Meanwhile,Contractors worked to coax it out of the swimming area and it swam away before 9am.
How the shark managed to make its way inside the nets is yet to be determined but it's thought high tide could have helped it over.
