Ohio State University Wexner Medical CenterDec 9 2024 Research led by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and College of Medicine along with scientists at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin in Berlin, Germany, provides first evidence that hospital-acquired pressure ulcers are a potent risk factor for poor neurological recovery among patients with acute spinal cord injury .

Key inclusion criteria were acute traumatic cervical SCI with relevant motor impairment as measured by American Spinal Injury Association impairment scale.
