The changes will affect those parking at the King's Mill Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark Hospital
New parking enforcement cameras are being installed at three Nottinghamshire hospitals amid a raft of changes for patients and visitors. The Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust has announced that Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras are being installed at the King's Mill Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark Hospital.
The new system involves vehicle registrations being read when people arrive and leave, meaning they no longer need to get a physical ticket on entry. The King's Mill and Mansfield hospitals were the first to see the new system go live on Thursday , with Newark's set to be launched on Friday . The hospital trust says people at the three hospitals affected will now pay on exit either by cash, card or contactless at the pay machines. Public car parks at the King's Mill Hospital have barriers and an illuminated sign will show when spaces are available.
Exemptions remain in place for groups including stoma patients and renal patients, whilst staff are asked to park in designated staff car parks. Those failing to pay a parking charge will have to pay a penalty charge notice of £50, reduced to £25 if paid within two weeks. Below are the car parking prices now in effect at the King's Mill, Newark and Mansfield community hospitals:
