Demolition work of the Southport Theatre is set to get underway with the Marine Lake Events Centre taking its place
This week, the council confirmed an agreement with specialist contractors, DSM Group, to demolish the former waterfront Convention Centre. It marks a significant step forward in the development of the highly anticipated Marine Lake Events Centre .
"I am delighted that these important next steps are happening for both the MLEC but more importantly for residents, visitors and local businesses who are fully behind us." Andrew Fletcher, managing director of the DSM Group, said he is eager to work with nearby residents and businesses. He said: "We have been able to work closely with Sefton Council and they were impressed with our plans and suggestions to mitigate any disruption to the community, which is a clear priority for the Council.
