An Irish republican march is to take place in Glasgow this month.
It is expected that around 300 people will take part in the march from the west to the east of the city going through the city centre.The group will gather at Kelvin Way on Saturday, March 25, before heading off along Sauchiehall Street, and into Pitt Street in the city centre before turning onto West Regent Street and down Renfield Street, Union Street and Jamaica Street to reach the River Clyde.
The parade then turns east along Clyde Street and up Bridgegate, Saltmarket before turning at Glasgow Cross along Gallowgate to reach Barrowlands Park.The parade will commemorate the rising when the rebellion against British rule took place during Easter leading to the execution of several of the movement’s leaders.
