Described by her daughter as the comic's 'final tour', Janey Godley's hearse will travel around Edinburgh and Glasgow ahead of her funeral at St Mary’s Cathedral in the west end on Saturday.
Glasgow comic Janey Godley is to take one last tour of the nation ahead of her funeral in Glasgow's west end .
The funeral will take place at St Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow's west end on Saturday. Janey, who found viral fame with her dubbed parodies of then-Scottish first minister Nicola Sturgeon’s coronavirus news briefings during the pandemic, revealed she had ovarian cancer in November 2021. Janey died in the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow on November 2. In the social media post Ashley said: “Here’s the details of Janey’s final tour, thank you for all the love and kindness in this past week.
The hearse will travel along the Royal Mile and Lawnmarket in Edinburgh – with a “pause for reflection” at St Giles’ Cathedral before travelling along Cockburn Street, Market Street and on to Glasgow. After the funeral on Saturday, there will be a private service at the crematorium.
