Jermaine Jenas, the former Tottenham Hotspur and England midfielder, has been dismissed from his presenting role at the BBC . After co-hosting The One Show with Alex Jones since 2020 and contributing to the football coverage on Match of the Day 2 and the BBC's live studio games, the 41 year old's departure was prompted by complaints of 'inappropriate behaviour'.
His segue into broadcasting had been successful, to the extent he was even touted as a potential successor to Gary Lineker for the coveted Match of the Day hosting role. Lineker himself remarked that Jenas would be a 'good' choice for the job.
