Flight LS676 departed Tenerife at 7:05 pm on Friday, but the aircraft was rerouted to Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport after the passenger's dire health situation. The deceased passenger was reportedly in his 70s, though his nationality remains unconfirmed.
According to the Mirror, local newspaper Diario de Avisos reported that the flight crew contacted air traffic control to inform them of the urgent medical needs of a passenger on board. Upon landing at Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport, the passenger was immediately transferred to the awaiting emergency medical services. Despite prompt treatment upon arrival, the man was tragically pronounced dead on the runway. The local paper stated: 'A flight covering the Tenerife South-Nottingham route has been diverted on Friday afternoon to Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport due to the indisposition of a passenger, who has finally died. The flight crew reported that they had a passenger with significant medical problems on board and need to be urgently diverted to the Compostela airport (on the Spanish mainland). 'An ambulance from the Galician Health Emergency Service-061 was sent to the terminal in the Galician capital, whose medical staff confirmed the death of a man in his 70s.
