She lost her husband Derek Draper in January
Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway is dealing with "constant pain" after the loss of her husband, Derek Draper, revealed co-presenter Charlotte Hawkins. In an interview with Best Magazine, Charlotte recounted how the whole ITV team had to "pull together" to support Kate, during this challenging period.
Derek died from long Covid complications at just 56 years of age, leaving behind wife Kate and their two kids, Darcey and Billy. Recognising Kate's strength in raising her children amidst this heartbreaking loss, Charlotte explained: "It's going to take time for Kate to heal, but she knows we're all here for her."Adding further distress to the situation, only one polling card arrived at the Garraway household this month addressed to the late Derek.
She also expressed concern for others in similar predicaments: "Is there any way around that situation because there are many people saying 'I haven't received a card' or 'I have received a card I think but I can't remember and I don't know if I've lost it'. What do you do about registration at this late stage? " Unfortunately, it was too late for Kate to register to vote in the 2024 election.
