Killie produced a comeback for the ages as they won 5-2 at Rugby Park
From dejected to dreamland in the space of 18 minutes. Kilmarnock produced a barely believable comeback at Rugby Park as they turned a 2-0 deficit into a 5-2 victory against St Mirren.
And there was more to come as Vassell raced through to fire home a fourth before David Watson strolled up the park and rolled the ball into the bottom corner for no.5. The 2500 some travelling fans didn't have to wait long to celebrate an opener, however, as Saints struck on 20 minutes when Killie failed to clear their lines from a corner-kick and Dunne duly thundered the ball home from 10 yards out for his first goal in his three seasons for the club.
Just as they appeared to show some signs of life, Killie shot themselves in the foot as Greg Kiltie's corner was turned home by Mandron from close range as the striker ghosted beyond Joe Wright to double Saints' lead and put them firmly in control. The comeback started when Vassell was able to poke home at the second attempt from close range after Liam Donnelly headed towards goal and ended less than 20 minutes later with the hosts three goals in front and up to fourth place.
