The Canary Island is set to be hit by mass protests from April 20 as locals take action over 'over tourism'
A holiday warning has been issued for Lanzarote, with the Canary Island said to be "on the brink of collapse".
Locals have voiced their concerns about the lack of accessible housing. They have also criticised the backlog in health services, the breakdown of the waste management system, the shortage of drinking water and the overcrowding of protected areas, reports Birmingham Live.
He continued: "Tenerife is a small island with limited resources. The roads are overwhelmed with traffic, there is a hydraulic emergency going on and hotels are full."
