Sam Judd has described the frustrating 'uphill battle' of dating as a person with disabilities

A Leeds wheelchair user is sick and tired of people with disabilities not being seen as ‘sexual beings’.

The Northern Film School graduate is attempting to raise money to fund the project entitled ‘My Friend Orson Welles’ with a target of £15,000. His ambition is to build up a team where the production and cast are at least 50 per cent disabled. Speaking to Leeds Live, Sam said: “I am a huge fighter for disabled rights and representation for all. Everyone gets horny. Well, most people. Disabled people are no exception. That's because, to state the obvious, we are also human. Therefore, it will normalise it and show people we aren't that different.”

'Uphill battle' The film will take elements from Sam’s own life, reflecting the challenges which beset a disabled person, and it will also present a love letter to cinema. Sam described navigating a love life as a disabled person as an ‘uphill battle’.
