Data from the Department for Education reveals the unauthorised absence rate for each school in Leeds
Data from across England has been released revealing the schools with the highest unauthorised absence rate in Leeds.Bishop Young Church of England Academy has a rate of 10.9% while John Smeaton Academy and Co-op Academy Leeds both have a rate of 10.4%. This number equates to the number of sessions missed, which is calculated as half a day of school.This is according to data from the Department for Education. The data is from the Autumn and Spring terms of the 2022/2023 school year.
There are also 131,290 persistently absent students across Yorkshire, 21.6% of pupils in the region. This means they have missed 10% or more sessions over an academic year.
