Man arrested for 'murder' of woman on Christmas Day
A 75-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 74-year-old woman died on Christmas Day in North Wales.
Officers swooped on a home in Fairbourne, Gwynedd, just after 8pm on Wednesday after reports the female pensioner had sustained serious injuries.Detectives swooped on a property in Fairbourne after reports the female pensioner had been seriously injuredDespite efforts made by the woman's family, police officers and paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene, a force spokesman said.
"This is a truly tragic and very rare type of occurrence in north west Wales and I wish to reassure the public that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident."Family liaison officers are supporting the victim's family and our thoughts remain with them. I would ask that their privacy is respected at this time."
