Thomas Park appeared in court charged with attempted grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, and theft.
A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with attacking Tiernan Rooney three days before he passed away. Thomas Park , of Centenary House, Belfast , appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court on Wednesday, January 29, after being charged with multiple offences which include attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He was also charged with the theft of a ring doorbell that belonged to one of Tiernan's family members. The incidents are all alleged to have taken place on Sunday, December 29, at an address in Conway Place, West Belfast. Park did not enter any pleas during the hearing and was remanded in custody following it until the next court appearance on February 26. Tiernan Rooney was stabbed numerous times in the head outside his home on Conway Place in West Belfast on Sunday, December 29, with the 28-year-old passing away a few days later at his home. Police have said that following a post-mortem examination his death is not being linked to the stabbing attack on him.
