Police in County Tyrone are actively investigating a serious burglary incident that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, January 28th. The alarm was raised shortly after 4:00 am when a masked male, clad in a black hoodie and wielding a knife, broke into an apartment building situated on Ballygawley Road in Dungannon . The intruder gained access to the building through a shared entrance before forcing his way into one of the apartments.
A couple residing in the apartment were startled awake by the intruder standing in their bedroom. The male resident bravely confronted the intruder, who subsequently fled the scene on foot, heading towards Newell Road. During his escape, the assailant managed to steal a mobile phone and several bank cards. A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) stated that detectives are diligently pursuing all leads related to the incident. They are appealing to anyone with information, including any dash-cam or CCTV footage that could prove valuable to their investigation, to come forward.
