They got up early on Saturday morning and took part in hours of community work

Giving up their free time, the kids from All Saints College on the Glen Road took to the streets on Saturday morning with litter pickers and bin bags at the ready. The community clean up saw rubbish lifted off the roads by the children, who even went as far as separating items into recycling bags.

Those recyclable items, were then donated to St James Community Farm, in the St James area. The farm asks for donations of cans, with collections helping towards vet and electric costs. A spokesperson for All Saints College said:"Our biggest group yet for our YR8 recruitment for our “Making our Communities a Better Place” scheme. Our students gave up their Saturday morning to take part in a community cleanup along the Glen Road with Mr Bell, new recruit Ms Campbell and Mr Kennedy.

"All waste was separated and all cans donated to St James’ Community Farm for recycling, helping to pay the vet costs and electric! We even got to feed the animals."We are all very proud of our young people this morning and the impact they have across their community.
