Services have been suspended on two Merseyrail lines this afternoon
Merseyrail services have been suspended this afternoon due to an incident on the railway. Due to trespassers on the tracks, services have been suspended on the New Brighton and West Kirby lines. A spokesperson for Merseyrail has said services are suspended between Hamilton Square and New Brighton and between Hamilton Square and West Kirby following the disruption. Replacement buses have been requested to run between both lines while the incident is dealt with.
In a statement on X, Merseyrail said: 'Due to trespassers on the railway between Bidston and Wallasey Village the West Kirby and New Brighton lines are disrupted, services are suspended between Hamilton Square and West Kirby and Hamilton Square and New Brighton.'
