Families across Merseyside have been celebrating Christmas jumper day by donning their favourite festive looks for school and nursery today.Jumper Day is an annual Save the Children awareness day, which raises money for the children who need it most. In 2022, the day raised a total of £5m for children, including £2m of match funding from the Government.
Every year, millions of schoolchildren and thousands of workplaces take part in the fundraising efforts by bringing a donation and wearing their Christmas jumpers for the day. Once again, our region has embraced the festive spirit by getting involved in the day's celebrations, with plenty of schools and workplaces holding their official Christmas jumper today - although some may save the festivities for Friday, December 13.
We asked ECHO readers to send in their Christmas Jumper Day photos this year, to see them featured in a round-up. Some kids sported traditional jumpers decorated with candy canes and winter scenes, while others wore outfits featuring some of their favourite characters, like Spider-Man and the Grinch.I'm an online shopping addict but the new Zara store converted me
Some parents even took the Christmas theme beyond a jumper and dressed their little ones in full festive outfits, including Christmas dresses and Mrs Claus costumes. All the photos sent in to the ECHO showed excited children beaming in their cute pictures, as they got ready for school.
