Morrisons is proposing to remove several regional and store-level management roles as part of a restructuring plan aimed at streamlining operations and improving service efficiency. The supermarket, facing increased pressure from discounters, will replace these positions with central roles and HR support. The move is expected to result in redundancies and follows a challenging period for the retailer since its acquisition by Clayton Dubilier & Rice.
A spokeswoman for Morrisons told The Grocer it carried out a "review of its people structure" to ensure it is "offering stores and sites a timely and consistent service".
