Lucifer O'Malia reached speeds of up to 110mph and travelled around 20 miles as he tried desperately to evade police before he was eventually arrested in a park.
A motorcyclist called Lucifer who drove into oncoming traffic on a motorway during a near hour-long chase has been jailed for 18 months.
Callum Ross, prosecuting, described how a pursuit involving a police helicopter then commenced, lasting for some 50 minutes in total. He also drove on the wrong side of the road and ran two red lights, while 'the pursuit included, perhaps at its most serious, the defendant entering the M6 contraflow on a slip road and driving into oncoming traffic'.The criminal - who was described as a 'young man who has potential' by his defence lawyers - now fears he will not see his child being born.
This includes driving without a licence and insurance during 2020 and being disqualified and handed a suspended prison sentence in September 2022 for dangerous driving. It came after O'Malia locked his then partner inside her flat on two occasions, leading to one incident in which she attempted to climb out of a window in order to escape.
Ben Berkson, defending, told the court: 'He has ruined what was a rather merciful sentence in respect of the community order.
