Now retired, Frank enjoys playing table tennis and indoor bowls and often beats players 70 years younger
A "generous and patient" businessman who owned a chain of launderettes in Accrington and beyond, celebrated his 95th birthday this week. Frank Gouldsbrough, from Accrington , reached the milestone on Wednesday, December 4.
The beloved father-of-two was born to parents Florence and Robert and is brother to Enid and the late Ken. Robert opened 14 launderettes across Accrington, Blackburn, Darwen and Haslingden and Frank took over seven of them, retiring from the business at the age of 75. Frank was a life-long member of the Scouts Association and earned a silver Acorn Award for his long service. The grandfather-of-one was a Scout leader of Knuzden Scouts based in St Oswald’s Church for many years, as well as an honorary member of the Masons Society in Accrington.
