Line of sight on permitting is next step
New Pacific Metals has issued a preliminary economic assessment for its Carangas silver project in Oruro, Bolivia, outlining the production of more than 6.5Mozpaof payable silver throughout a 12-year mine life at an all-in sustaining cost of $7.60/oz net of by-products, with 8.5Moz per year in the first six years. In total, Carangas will produce 106Moz of silver, 620Mlb of zinc and 382Mlb of lead.
New Pacific said it is engaging with government authorities to determine the potential timeline for project permitting. It will commence a feasibility study once it has confidence it has a pathway to a favourable and timely permitting outcome. With the project set to create 500 jobs, New Pacific said it is receiving support from both Oruro department and the federal government.
