In the previous financial year, there were eight serious sexual safety incidents relating to children recorded. WA Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson has previously denied any knowledge of other incidents of sexual assault at PCH.The ABC has asked the minister what steps she has taken to ascertain whether other sexual assaults have been alleged at the facility.Advocacy service buckles under demand
"Along with the commissioning of new facilities and expansion of jurisdiction into new service types, this has created unsustainable pressure on MHAS resourcing." Mad Magladry says a fear of not being believed can lead to under-reporting of sexual assault and harassment by in-patients."It's really hard to tell how widespread the issue is because of the stigma around mental health in having anything taken seriously, having allegations taken seriously," Mx Magladry said.
