More than 1.6 million State Pensioners are getting either £72.65 or £108.55 each week through Attendance Allowance.
The latest figures from the Department for Work and Pensions show that at the end of February 2024 more than 1.6 million older people were receiving additional financial support through Attendance Allowance , including nearly 144,000 living in Scotland.
Commenting on the online application process, a DWP spokesperson said: “We are temporarily testing a new online service to make claiming Attendance Allowance easier and to improve accessibility. While the online service is not yet widely available, no-one will miss out on the benefit as claimants can still apply in the usual way by post."
