Felice Di Resta had appealed against a refusal on his proposals

Plans to open a builders yard in Whitburn have been knocked back after councillors agreed with neighbours that it would bring more traffic onto an already busy road. The house now sits next to the M8 as it slices through the northern edge of the town and its extensive grounds, sandwiched between the motorway embankment and a petrol station used to house a small glass factory. It is with the town’s settlement boundary and on the main road to Armadale.

Neighbours across the road from Almondbank House objected saying the site would bring heavy lorries to an already congested area and also create dust and noise.
