A property in a block of flats in Nottinghamshire has been boarded up due to its links to knife crime, Nottinghamshire Police has said. The force obtained a closure order from the magistrates' court for the address in Beechwood Court, Sutton-in-Ashfield.
"Serious violence is often linked to drug dealing and as such the closure was sought to put an instant end to the activity at the locality and prevent any serious offences form occurring," Ashfield police said in a statement. The closure order, issued by Nottinghamshire Magistrates' Court, took effect on Friday, May 19 and will last for three months.It prevents anybody entering the address, which will be subject to ongoing patrols.
