The operation has begun its sixth day
Specialist police officers are on the Manchester Ship Canal as a search operation enters its sixth day. Emergency services raced out to Irlam Locks, off Cadishead Way in Salford , last Thursday evening after a man entered the water.
A team from the North West Police Underwater Search and Marine Unit is in attendance, with a van seen parked up at Irlam Locks. Officers have been seen searching the canal on a dinghy this afternoon.Police, firefighters and paramedics all attended the scene from 8.40pm last Thursday, following concerns for a person's welfare. Images showed underwater search teams dispatched, with boats used on the canal, while a helicopter also attended.
