Police in Nottinghamshire have dismantled a cannabis farm discovered in a suburban home, calling the operation a 'ticking time bomb' due to its potential fire hazard to surrounding properties. The raid took place at approximately 7:15 am on Friday, January 17th, at a two-bedroom property on Lodore Close in West Bridgford . Officers from the Rushcliffe neighbourhood policing team executed a warrant, uncovering 23 cannabis plants growing within one of the bedrooms.

A 20-year-old man was present at the address and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of cultivating a Class B drug. Sergeant Che Sands, who led the operation, expressed gratitude for the information received that facilitated the successful raid. He emphasized the dangers posed by such cannabis grows in residential areas, stating that they can contribute to an increase in local crime and present a significant fire risk to neighboring homes. All equipment used to power the grow has been confiscated and will be dismantled.Sergeant Sands further stated that the investigation into those responsible for establishing the cannabis farm is ongoing.
