Police have confirmed that the cause of a massive fire which has destroyed a derelict Blackburn pub is being treated as suspicious.

Firefighters informed police that the fire was of 'suspicious origin', the Force Incident Manager said. The pub is currently listed as available to lease by Stonegate Pub Partners with a potential annual turnover of £252,000. The lease is £14,000 a year.
Residents living nearby were woken by the emergency services who remained at the scene for several hours. Nicole White, whose mum lives in Briar Road, said she and her boyfriend had hoped the pub would re-open once a new tenant had been found.
