A former British Army officer who holds three world records hopes to become the first woman to travel solo to the North Pole.
Only Norway's Borge Ousland in 1994 and Britain's Pen Hadow in 2003 are recorded as having made the solo and unsupported journey.Ms Chandi, nicknamed Polar Preet, became the first Asian woman to complete a solo trek to the South Pole in 2022 "No females have done it for a reason," she told PA news agency from her training base in the Antarctic."Yes, I'm scared, and yes, it's going to be hard. I don't think that is a reason not to necessarily try things, within reason."The record-breaking adventurer admits the expedition will be "a lot more challenging" than some of her previous polar records.
