Princess Anne visited Southmead Hospital in Bristol to express her gratitude to the medical staff who treated her following a horse-related accident in June. She revealed that she had limited memory of her hospitalization, including her time in intensive care.

Princess Anne expressed her gratitude to the medical staff at Southmead Hospital in Bristol for their exceptional care following her horse-related accident last June. The 74-year-old royal shared that she had limited recollection of her time in the hospital, saying, 'Sadly, I don't have huge memories of being in here either.' However, she acknowledged the excellent treatment she received and thanked the staff for 'filling in the blanks' about what transpired during her hospitalization.

Princess Anne's accident occurred on her Gatcombe Park estate while she was on her way to visit her chickens. It is believed that she was struck by a horse's head or leg. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene, and she was transported to Southmead Hospital, located approximately 30 miles away. Initially, it was unknown that the Princess Royal had been admitted to intensive care.During a brief speech delivered to the hospital staff, Princess Anne recounted her experience, stating that she was 'really grateful' for the straightforward recovery, acknowledging that such outcomes are not always guaranteed. She also humorously remarked that she couldn't recall which of her horses was responsible for the incident, adding that 'relationships remain absolutely secure.' The King's sister spent five nights in the hospital following the accident on June 23rd. Buckingham Palace released a statement at the time stating that the princess 'remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation.' She resumed her public royal duties almost three weeks later after receiving rehabilitation support at home
