The PS5 game has been marked for immediate recall by Sony, and will be taken offline on Friday
Customers who purchased the PS5 game Concord are being urged to return it immediately for a full refund from the place of purchase. It's a rare occurrence for games to be recalled, with consumers typically more accustomed to food products being withdrawn from sale rather than physical disc-based games.
Launched just two weeks ago on PS5 and PC, Concord is already being pulled from service due to poor sales figures. According to Steamspy, which tracks player numbers, the game had fewer than 700 active players at launch, reports The Express. The servers for the game will be shut down this coming Friday, September 6, rendering physical copies unplayable after that date.
"While we determine the best path ahead, Concord sales will cease immediately and we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased the game for PS5 or PC. If you purchased the game for PlayStation 5 from the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Direct, a refund will be issued back to your original payment method.
