Almost £20K spent in less than 14 months by PSNI
The PSNI spent close to £20,000 in the last year on fixing damaged doors that had wrecked during police ops.
In response to the FOI, a PSNI spokesperson said while damage is "not our intention", it can happen on some occasions.READ MORE: DFI spends thousands in one year on Belfast bridge graffiti cleanups "Unfortunately, whilst it is not our intention, damage to property can sometimes occur as a result of searches, for example where we need to gain entry urgently or where keys to premises are not available. Where appropriate, a householder may be entitled to compensation when damage is caused to their property."
Alongside the warning, police in the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon district posted an image of a door being cut open with power tools at a property.
