Loose Women star Ruth Langsford has opened up about the prospect of dating again after her 14-year marriage with GB News presenter Eamonn Holmes
Ruth Langsford says “never say never” as she opens up about finding love after the end of her 14-year marriage to Eamonn Holmes . The former couple left fans in shock when they called time on their relationship in 2024.
Eamonn, 66, has since embarked on a new relationship with 46-year-old Katie Alexander. Ruth however says she is trying to “embrace the fact that I’m single” and focus on herself and her career. The 65-year-old says she isn’t “delighted” that her marriage ended but has “accepted” it. Speaking to womanandhome magazine, Ruth has now opened up about looking for a new relationship. When asked if love is on the cards again, she said: “Never say never to starting a new relationship. I haven’t been put off having a relationship. I haven’t even been put off marriage.” She added: “But I’m definitely not actively looking. Part of that is because I’ve actually realised I’m quite good on my own.” Ruth, who says she has been in therapy after her divorce, says she has realised she is “independent and quite strong”. She is now “excited” by what lies ahead in the next stage of her life, although initially admits she found it “scary”. The Loose Women star’s career has been going from strength to strength since her split and she has recently hinted that she would be open to a return to This Morning. When asked if she would consider hosting the show with "TV son" Rylan Clark, she responded: "If they'd have me, they only have to ask, especially with Rylan! I love Rylan. He's like my son, really. We adore each other, and we've worked together before, so who knows?" Elsewhere Ruth appeared to make a dig at Eamonn recently during a conversation on Loose Women. This occurred whilst discussing former Prime Minister David Cameron, who recently disclosed his battle with prostate cancer. The illness was detected after Lord Cameron's wife Samantha urged him to get screened. Responding to the news, Loose Women panellist Myleene Klass observed: "It is a known fact that men live longer when they're married because they have wives, and women live longer when they aren't married shall we say... you do the maths!" Ruth retorted: "Good to know!" as she shared a laugh with the audience and her co-hosts about the possibility of a longer life now that she's single. Eamonn meanwhile sent a message to his ex-wife over Christmas, after declaring his admiration for Ruth. Despite their on-going divorce, the GB News presenter wished Ruth “all the best” over Christmas. Eamonn addressed his ex-wife while attending a Christmas dinner at the Tric Awards with Katie. He is quoted by The Sun saying: “I wish Ruth all the best, she deserves it.” It was at the ceremony that Eamonn also spoke of his plans to head on a getaway with Katie over Christmas. The pair are said to have spent the festive period in a £270-a-night holiday cottage in North Yorkshire. Eamonn - who now uses a walking frame after suffering mobility problems since a surgery he underwent in 2022 - also shared how he hopes to walk more freely again in 2026 and how he has remained resilient amid his health struggles. He is now hoping to have a revolutionary new stem cell treatment. He said: “My dream next year is to go to a park and be able to walk with my frame and my crutches. And then my next dream is to get some sort of movement with my legs and maybe I might need a wee chair to sit down on, but it’s hard to explain the sense of achievement to be able to balance and walk."
