Hundreds of flights have been cancelled or delayed after an air traffic control fault caused major travel disruption
Airlines Ryanair, easyJet and Jet2 have issued new updates to passengers after a technical fault caused widespread disruption to air travel on Monday . Although the problem was fixed on Monday afternoon, holidaymakers have been warned that it will continue to have an impact for several days.
Ryanair’s statement: As a result of the latest UK ATC Failure on Mon 28 Aug, more than 20 Ryanair aircraft were unable to get back to their home base last evening and a considerable number of our crews ran out of their legal duty hours limit yesterday. We are reviewing today's programme as the situation evolves, and we will update customers in due course. Customers due to travel tomorrow should travel to the airport as normal unless we advise otherwise, and continue to monitor Flight Information on our website.
We notified customers in advance and provided the option to transfer their flight for free or receive a refund to help them rearrange their plans. We recommend that all passengers flying with us today continue to check the status of their flight on our Flight Tracker www.easyjet.com/en/flight-tracker for real time information before travelling to the airport.
