Temperatures are set to plummet overnight across Scotland but the cold spell is not predicted to be here for long.
Scotland is set for another mixed bag of weather this weekend as temperatures are set to drop to lows of 2C tonight across the country before conditions warm up again less than 24 hours later.
This morning on Thursday we've had a sunny and crisp start but there is still a noticeably cool north to north westerly breeze with temperatures set to plummet tomorrow morning. The cold spell we are experiencing is due to arctic air blowing in with a brisk breeze. Thankfully, the cold spell we are experiencing is not set to last despite temperatures in the west and south west reaching lows of 1C this evening, with a "touch of frost likely in some sheltered southern and eastern spots".
