What was originally a family joke, became a reality for grandmother Dorothy ascended a Bennachie hill range peak for charity.
An Aberdeen grandmother has climbed one of the Bennachie hill ranges to raise money for international disaster relief charity ShelterBox.
“I was disappointed that I could not make the top but have to admit that for someone of senior age and with some health issues I did not too badly.” ShelterBox was formed in the year 2000 by a Rotary Club in Cornwall and has since supported nearly three million people in around 100 countries. The charity works with communities and local partners to understand what help people need following a disaster and tailors its aid to each response.
“Her latest adventure is certainly a challenge and we’re so thankful to Dorothy and her family for allowing ShelterBox to be part of it.
