Mental health support worker Khylie Ramsay says she fears for the health of her four kids after toxic black mould was found in the bathroom of their Wheatley Homes property.
A Scots mum who was forced to flee her former home before being dumped in a mouldy housing association property fears for the health of her children. Khylie Ramsay moved into the Glasgow house with her four children 12 months ago after she was driven from her last house by abusive neighbours, but soon discovered dangerous black mould growing in her new bathroom.
Khylie told the Record: "It’s bad enough that we had to leave our previous home but I’m coming to the end of my tether with this current situation. I won't stop until it's made completely safe or we are moved. I don’t believe this property is suitable for anyone to live in, especially children and people with severe medical conditions.
"They did tell me they had fixed part of it but when I looked behind what they had done, I realised they had just plastered and boarded over it. It's like they just want to cover it up rather than actually deal with what's causing it." A letter from Riley’s medical team also raised concerns, stating: "There is good evidence to support the dangers of exposure to black mould in contributing to the asthma symptoms, therefore it is unwise to continually be exposed to untreated mould.
"The whole family have in effect been poisoned by these mould spores which the Wheatley Group did nothing about initially. Khylie has had to fight every step of the way to get anywhere with this issue.
