Ava-Rose Guide was rushed to hospital in Dumfries when she was just 10 days old.
A mum has issued a snoring warning to parents of newborns after her tiny tot was diagnosed with a serious heart defect.
Ava was then sent to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow where she was diagnosed with a heart defect that would require open heart surgery . "But it just seemed to get worse. As well as her breathing, she was sweaty and she couldn't keep anything down. It was taking an hour just to feed her because she would often fall asleep mid-feed.
"There was just a feeling of absolute dread and the scariest part was not knowing what was wrong at first. I just watched her every night as I didn't know what was going to happen." As well as a hole in her heart, doctor's also discovered Ava's aorta was connecting to the wrong place so it couldn't pump the blood around her body properly - making it very difficult for her to breathe.
