The 53-year-old victim was allegedly assaulted by a young woman who accused her of stealing cups that can be exchanged for £1 each.
Police are investigating an assault at a Paolo Nutini gig which allegedly was caused by a row about the plastic cup refund scheme.
But the woman told sister site Glasgow Live that she was approached by a woman of around 20 years of age who accused her of stealing cups that belonged to her. Gig-goers can hand up to six cups back each for extra dosh, while also helping to keep the venues tidy. "The girl then grabbed cups from my wife's hand from behind. Being surprised and shocked by this my wife turned round to face the girl and was head-butted, causing her to instantly fall to the ground.
Top news stories today The victim received medical attention from the staff at the venue before returning home and reporting the incident to police. She then attended a minor injuries unit the following day where they were told that the cheekbone could possibly be fractured.
