Everton manager Sean Dyche has explained his thoughts on James Garner's development while also commenting on the displays of Vitalii Mykolenko and match-winner Idrissa Gueye following the 3-2 victory at Crystal Palace
Everton manager Sean Dyche says he likes that James Garner is a ‘nark’ but wants the midfielder to be able to show his silk as well as steel.
When asked about former Manchester United player Garner’s temperament, the Blues boss said: “He’s just a good kid. He’s got that nice little edge about him that he’s a bit of a nark now and again, I like it. “Players these days have got it all there, it’s all in front of you. We can only guide them to where they want to go, it’s up to them and he’s showing signs he wants to grip it.
He said: “My belief is defend first, that’s your job, that’s why you’re called a defender. The game has slightly changed but I always liked defenders who can defend and he certainly can.
