UKBritish GovernmentCrime News

A second man has been arrested in connection with alleged arson attacks on properties with connections to the Prime Minister, Keir Starmer.

Police suspect fires at two properties and a car linked to Sir Keir Starmer were arson attacks A second man has been arrested in connection with alleged arson attacks on London properties with connections to the Prime Minister.

The 26-year-old was arrested by counter-terror officers at Luton Airport shortly before 2pm today on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life, said the Met Police. It follows a blaze at Sir Keir’s personal home in Kentish Town on Monday and another at a property he’s previously lived in in Islington on Sunday – both were small fires at the front doors of the buildings. Meanwhile a car he reportedly sold was set alight on May 8. No one was hurt in any of the fires. Roman Lavrynovych, a 21-year-old Ukrainian man, has already been charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life in connection with the fires. Sir Keir said the fires were ‘an attack on democracy’ Lavrynovych, of Sydenham, south-east London, denied arson in a police interview. He appeared in court on Friday and was remanded in custody until a further hearing at the Old Bailey scheduled for June 6. Sir Keir has described the fires as ‘an attack on democracy’. Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch said she was ‘horrified’ to hear about the incidents, calling them ‘completely unacceptable’. It’s understood the Prime Minister is renting out his Kentish Town home to his sister-in-law. Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@metro.co.uk.
