The 'Happy at Home' index asked more than 21,000 people across Britain how they feel about where they live. Locations are ranked based on factors such as whether people feel there is a sense of belonging and community spirit, the proximity to green spaces, and local amenities.
Residents of St Ives scored the area highly for its sense of community spirit, the sense of belonging the residents have, and how comfortable residents feel to be themselves, Rightmove said.
However, the average house prise has risen by 6% from £492,870 to £523,731 in the last year - higher than the typical asking price for a home across Britain of £366,999.The Galashiels community scored it particularly highly on the friendliness and politeness of residents.
