The storm battered our region with 60mph winds earlier today
Storm Lilian wreaked havoc across Greater Manchester this morning with strong winds causing trees to fall onto roads, Metrolink services being suspended and a food and drink festival having to be postponed.

Photos showed police on the scene as the road was blocked in both directions.
The storm also caused disruption on trains, with TransPennine Express, Northern rail and Avanti West Coast warning of delays and cancellations in our region. Drivers were also urged to take extra care on the roads this morning as a stretch of the M6 motorway near the exit for the M56 was blocked due to a fallen tree.
