The success of DA Techs in Adlington - which survived the pandemic - is 'a fantastic story'
Those are the words of Chorley MP Sir Lindsay Hoyle who today returned to DA Techs in his home village of Adlington five years after his first visit. Back in 2019, when DA Techs was the fledgling creation of friends Jamie Baxter and Phil Bernard, Sir Lindsay would pass the company on a daily basis and jumped at the chance to pay the team a visit when they opened for business.
The prospect of carrying out fully-mobile alloy repairs - far more detailed and extensive than those done on less advanced lathes - has inspired Jamie and Phil expand the business with a franchise model. The company has just signed up its first franchisee and has appointed an expert who has previously worked for Starbucks and Pret a Manger.
Co-owner Jamie Baxter, whose background is in used cars, revealed that the Covid pandemic isn't the only economy-crushing crisis the firm has had to survive. And of course, with such advanced equipment inside their workshops, DA Techs uses a lot of energy. Every day they refurbish more than 220 alloy wheels. Micro Lenco's lathes reduce the turnaround time by two days - meaning that user car dealerships are more likely to be able to hit the optimum selling time of 35 days.
