It's having a 'devastating' impact
Residents next to a large Nottinghamshire park have spoken out about the ongoing incidents of anti-social behaviour, vandalism and litter. Located on the edge of Kirkby in Ashfield is Portland Park, a large green space that spans over 15.2 hectares of open space and 10 hectares of woodland.
Hani continued: "Quite often we get little motorbikes that go down there as well at unreasonable hours. It's not something that would make you want to move as it's a nice place to live, but it does attract people doing silly things at silly times. A 46 -year-old office manager, who lives close to the park but did not want to be named, said: "There's always rubbish. The kids just buy stuff and then drop it and leave.
A 51-year-old resident, who lives close to the park but did not wish to be named, said: "I notice the motorbikes and scramblers. It does get anti-social behaviour as it's off a beaten track so it's not visible to people unless they actually go down there. Mr Anderson said: “Local residents should not have to put up with nuisance behaviour like this. Every person should have the right to feel safe in their community and not be subjected to inconsiderate disruption, as is occurring in Portland Park.
