Two men have died following a boat capsizing off the coast of South Australia. A woman was also rescued and taken to hospital.

Two men have died after they, and a woman, were found unresponsive on the shore of a beach in South Australia’s southeast. The men aged 82 and 69, and the 59-year-old woman, all from Millicent, had been on a boat which capsized in the water just south of Beachport on Monday morning. SA Police and SAAS were called to the beach near Port Connor about 11.30am, after the grim discovery was made. The two men were declared dead at the scene, and the woman was taken to hospital.

The circumstances around the deaths are not being treated as suspicious. The Water Operations Unit will be assisting ongoing investigations into the incident. Police will prepare a report for the Coroner. The tragic incident took place just before another coastal emergency in the state which is still unfolding about 390km northwest of Beachport, up in Henley Beach. Search crews were deployed off the popular city beach for a person who was reported missing after witnesses lost sight of them in the water about 1.20pm. Beach goers are asked to avoid the area as emergency services continue their search. More to come..
