Two new Glasgow restaurants, Fallachan Kitchen and Margo, have been added to the Michelin Guide ahead of the first-ever Michelin Guide awards ceremony in Scotland.
Two Glasgow restaurants have been added to the Michelin guide as the city prepares to host the premier restaurant guide's first awards ceremony in Scotland . The Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland will be presented during a glitzy event at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow's west end on February 10.
All chefs running Michelin-starred restaurants, influencers, industry leaders and some journalists will be invited to the ceremony, which is to be followed a cocktail afterparty at the Old Fruitmarket in Merchant City. Two Glasgow restaurants were added to the Michelin guide on Wednesday (January 8). The addition of Fallachan Kitchen and Margo, just two months ago, was described as 'only fitting' as Michelin prepares to announce the new MICHELIN Stars, Bib Gourmands and Green Stars in the 'buzzing city'. Fallachan Kitchen Fallachan Kitchen, next to SWG3, is hidden away under a railway arch, and now features in the Michelin guide. Described as 'genially run' by Michelin inspectors, the restaurant is a 'showcase' for chef Craig Grozier. The Michelin guide states: 'The rumble of trains overhead only adds to the atmosphere as Craig engages with his small group of guests, all sat around one communal table in front of the open kitchen. The menu changes regularly, such is Craig’s commitment to showcasing the best seasonal Scottish produce, be it Barra scallop or Borders partridge. 'The punchily flavoured dishes can be paired with a thoughtfully curated wine flight.' Margo Located on Miller Street in the city centre, Margo opened in October as a sister restaurant to Ox and Finch in Finnieston and Ka Pao in Hillhead. It is described in the Michelin guide as 'a bustling, efficiently run restaurant that’s deservedly popular thanks to its great buzz and flavour-packed, generously priced dishes.' The guide states: 'It’s a cavernous place spread over two floors, with a semi-industrial feel and its lively atmosphere enhanced by the open kitchen'
